The Beach Boys Do It Again 50th Anniversary Edition

The Embankment Boys are finally, officially fix to "Do It Again."  America's Band kicks off its l^th Ceremony Tour on Tuesday evening in Tucson, Arizona, and a new unmarried, "That'southward Why God Made the Radio," should hit the airwaves imminently, with a promotional video already having been leaked to the public.  With the band's as-yet-untitled new anthology currently listed on numerous retail sites for a June v release but as yet unconfirmed by Capitol Records, news is hither virtually the first music release to tie in with the reunion tour.  May 1 is the date for The Embankment Boys 50th Anniversary Commemorative 'ZinePak, a CD/magazine hybrid to exist bachelor exclusively at Wal-Mart.  Tantalizingly, the 'ZinePak will include the group's recent re-recording of its 1968 striking "Do Information technology Again," for the first fourth dimension on CD equally part of the set's 11-rails compilation disc.

'ZinePak was founded just final year by Kim Kaupe, 26, and Brittany Hodak, 28, of New York.  The upstart company has already thrived with the successful release of over one dozen 'ZinePaks including sets featuring Selena Gomez, Scotty McCreery and Rascal Flatts.  The University of Country Music Awards' 'Zinepak actually debuted at No. 17 on the Billboard Top Country Albums nautical chart, No. four on Top Compilation Albums and No. 19 on Elevation Independent Albums.  The Beach Boys edition, co-produced with Capitol Records, might be the highest –profile project nevertheless for the young company and its commencement major entrée into the classic stone marketplace.  (The collectible CD/magazine concept isn't unique to 'Zinepak, notwithstanding.   Nosotros spotlighted the WHSmith-sectional "Bookazine" for Matt Monro final October.)

Brittany Hodak explained to Billboard, "Nosotros wanted to do something actually special to help celebrate the band's anniversary.  There have been lots of Beach Boys hits packages over the years, but...now, in improver to listening to their favorite songs, fans volition become a chance to hear the stories behind those recordings in the band members' ain words."  Kim Kaupe added, "After 50 years, to see them still be and then passionate about connecting with fans was an incredible affair to witness. In addition to the 11-track CD (the contents of which can be plant below!), the 'Zinepak will include a 72-folio mag and a prepare of postcards.  The mag features new interviews with all of the surviving Beach Boys: Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston and David Marks.

JOE MARCHESE (Editor) joined The 2d Disc shortly after its launch in early 2010, and has since penned daily news and reviews nearly classic music of all genres. In 2015, Joe formed the 2d Disc Records characterization. Celebrating the swell songwriters, producers and artists who created the audio of American popular song, Second Disc Records, in conjunction with Real Gone Music, has released newly-curated collections produced by Joe from iconic artists such as Johnny Mathis, Bobby Darin, Laura Nyro, Melissa Manchester, Chet Atkins, and many others. He has contributed liner notes to reissues from a diverse array of artists, amid them Nat "King" Cole, Paul Williams, Lesley Gore, Dusty Springfield, B.J. Thomas, The 5th Dimension, Burt Bacharach, The Mamas and the Papas, Carpenters, Perry Como, Rod McKuen, Doris Solar day, Jackie DeShannon, and Andy Williams, and has compiled releases for talents including Robert Goulet and Keith Allison of Paul Revere and the Raiders. Over the past 2 decades, Joe has also worked in a variety of capacities on and off Broadway every bit well equally at some of the premier theatres in the U.S., including Lincoln Center Theater, George Street Playhouse, Paper Factory Playhouse, Long Wharf Theatre, and the York Theatre Company. He has felt privileged to work on productions alongside artists such as the late Jack Klugman, Eli Wallach, Arthur Laurents, Betty Comden and Adolph Green. In 2009, Joe began contributing theatre and music reviews to the print publication The Sondheim Review, and in 2012, he joined the staff of The Digital Bits as a regular correspondent writing almost film and television on DVD and Blu-ray. Joe currently resides in the suburbs of New York City.
